Use A Well-Aerated And Good Draining Media For The Production Of Coleus. Coleus Will Tolerate A Wide Ph Range, 5.5 To 6.5. When Starting The Crop Do Not Run It Too Wet. Let It Dry Out Between Irrigations. It Is Susceptible To Root And Stem Rots At This Stage. After Coleus Is Established It Has A Huge Water Requirement. As Far As Nutrition Is Concerned Coleus Are Light Feeders. 200 Ppm Nitrogen Every Other Irrigation Is Adequate. High Salt Levels Will Damage The Root System Of Coleus. Coleus Being Tropical In Origin Likes Warm Temperatures. 65-Degree Nights And 70-80 Degree Days And This Plant Will Grow Quite Nicely. Cooler Night Temps Can Be Used But Growth Will Slow Dramatically. At Cooler Temps. The Soil Should Not Be Kept To Wet. The Varieties That Are Available Thrive In Full Sun. The Sun Brings Out The Vivid Foliage Colors These Varieties Possess. Coleus Is The Most Pest Free Plant We Grow. Insect Should Not Be A Problem.

USES

Coleus Are Relatively Free From Diseases. A Root Rot Prevention Program Will Be Helpful Especially After Planting. Treat For Rhieoctenia And Phythium Stem And Root Rots. For A Nice Pot 6-8 Week Crop Time Will Be Required. Pinch 1 To 2 Weeks After You Plant Your Cutting And Then 5-7 Weeks Will Be Needed For Growth To Fill Out The Pot. A Plant Grown For Its Foliage, Which Comes In Many Colors And Patterns. Our Coleus Performs Best In Full Sun Where These Colors Are Most Vivid. The Various Varieties Range In Size From 1 To 3 Feet In A Growing Season. Coleus Is Not Hardy; It Will Not Survive Freezing Temperatures. 4” Pots, 6” Pots, Combination, Hanging Baskets And In Landscapes. In Hanging Baskets Plant 3-5 Plants Per 10” Basket, Pinch 1-2 Weeks After Planting And Then Give The Crop 5-7 Weeks To Fill Out. For Fuller Baskets Pinch Twice. This Will Add 2-3 More Weeks On The Production Time
